The Media
I’m loving Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, and I’m anticipating the return of Bill Maher on HBO on Friday (download the podcast for free on Monday.)
These two people are intelligent, real and entertaining people that actually make sense.

I agree. I enjoy Rachel Maddow, but its becoming hard to watch Olbermann and Matthews. I usually agree with them, but it’s starting to feel slimy just how biased they are. I guess that’s just cable news. It’s easy to love because you feel validated by watching someone you agree with pounce all over the other side. At the same time, you’re usually not getting the whole picture. Maybe they should hire Bill O’Reilly, put him on with Olbermann and just let them go at it.
Maddow is great. While it’s easy to see which side of the political fence she’s on in her commentary, when she’s actually reporting you can see that she makes a concerted effort not to come across as part of the “liberal media”. When I first saw her, I had a hunch that it wouldn’t take long for her to land her own timeslot. Great snag by MSNBC.
I expect Olbermann to be biased to at least some extent. That’s probably what I like about him since I’m a bleeding-heart liberal. I’m allergic to FOX News.
Matthews is wearing very thin on me. The on-air ass-chewing that he gave Olbermann the other day over a misunderstood joke was completely classless, in my opinion.
@Scott: I agree that Olbermann and Matthews are becoming very hard to watch. I think they make a terrible team in the first place, their personalities do not compliment each other at all. Matthews doesn’t get Olbermann’s humor hardly ever and Olbermann think Matthews is crazy, which he is. The all-Dem, all-Liberal, all-the-time stuff gets old after a while too. I’m actually looking forward to the Republican convention so I feel less a part of the mob.
@Derick: There’s some good stuff of Maddow arguing with Joe Scarborough on YouTube. He’s such a dick.
I like Olbermann mostly because I liked him when he woud appear with Dan Patrick on his radio show (and of course from his Sportscenter days.) to go from that to MSNBC anchor was kind of surprising but refreshing to a point.
Chris Matthews is someone that I like in small doses, and in the right setting. It depends who he’s directing his manic behavior and constant interruptions towards, I guess, and whether I like that person or not.
