Post-Thanksgivin’ Wrap-up
Prologue: Eagle-eyed and frequent Breathingfire.com readers will have noticed that I posted a couple of quick items over the weekend in a 10-minute fit of self-loathing that sometimes rears it’s ugly head during holidays and extended visits with family (among other things.) I deleted them because hey, they didn’t help you or me, and I’m over it now. Moving on.
Thanksgiving was a good time, beginning with a trip out to the bars with some friends, followed by a couple of family dinners, a showing of Get Smart, and lastly another gathering of friends and some laps of Mario Kart Wii (which is pretty damn fun, and addicting.)
In dating news, I’ve tried the Match.com thing, and actually paid for a month. I did this out of curiosity and boredom mostly, and found that online dating is much more advantageous to women than men. I’m pretty picky about who I date, see, etc., so the few that I’ve found on there that are worthy of an email (I sound so stuck up right now, I know) are probably already getting flooded with winks and emails and whatever else from other male and/or female members. Plus it’s too darn expensive. I won’t be renewing after this month expires (hey girls, log on now and give me a wink!) so then it’s back to whoever I randomly bump into in the apartment parking lot when taking out the garbage (and that one secret crush I have, tee-hee.) Which is fine with me.
On the more positive side of things, school is almost done for the semester! A couple of projects and exams later, and I’ll have a much anticipated 3-week vacation to enjoy. Ahhh, I can’t wait. I wish I had money so I could spend that time learning how to snowboard. I spent some time in a sports shop back at home drooling over the cool snowboarding equipment and learning from the guy who works there about what to get when/if I ever buy. Hopefully I can at least get a lesson or two in this winter.
I also checked out some kayaks, and I really want to get one this winter. I’m not sure if it will fall into the budget, but I’m going to try and make it happen. I loved being out on Lake Michigan in a kayak the couple times that I have gone, so I’d like to make that a regular part of my springs and summers. There’s nothing like Lake Michigan in the summer.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving as well!
