2009 NBA Playoffs Bracket update
We’re 64% through the NBA regular season, and according to the bar graph on the 2009 NBA Playoffs bracket page that means it’s All-Star Weekend!
The bracket is constantly updating in real time with each new game so be sure to check back frequently on the status of your favorite team! My Pistons are slowly slipping from prominence, but they’re not out yet.
Suggestions and comments can be left in the comments of this post.
Shouldn’t the cavs be first not the celtics? GO CAVS
P.S. You should use nba.com it is very helpful for these things.
Actually, no. The Celtics should be first as seen on the bracket. As of right now, Cleveland is a half game behind Boston in the Eastern Conference. Anyways, it will all work itself out eventually.
I use ESPN.com, which is just as good, if not better than NBA.com. The bracket is shown with live results when you load the page.
love the brackets. i bookmark them every year. one suggestion though: display the team’s seed number?
oh yeah and good luck pistons! they’re gonna need it! (i’m a detroiter)
Hey Josh! I remember you from previous years. Thanks for stopping by. At the bottom of the page thre is a link to show/hide the seedings and records. I might have the seeds show up by default here soon. Thanks for the comment.
oh yeah, i remember that from last year. i guess i forgot to scroll down. sorry about that. you’re doing a great job. thanks again.
Your site gets better every year. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Harry!
orlando might have just sealed their fate by topping boston for the 2nd seed. if they do end up facing the pistons in the playoffs, we (the pistons) have a good chance at beating them. the pistons have always had orlando’s number. we’ve beat them every time we played them this season.
Lable the names of the rounds.
Tank you!!
@Peyton: I just might do that (with dates.) Thanks for the suggestion.
thanks for the great bracket, notice an odd year trend? GO SPURS GO!
lol CAVS SUCK
LAKERS all the way baby
SPURS SUCK TOO
LAKERS
@Jatt: Thanks for your nice comments and suggestions! :)
Blazers are going to win just u watch there getting better each month
Just wanted to say holla. Nice work on the bracket! Question: do you screen-scrape ESPN, or is there a feed?
p.s. Rip City!
Celtics are going to take it again this year! We still have the #2 seed in the tougher east even with KG and Leon Powe our 2 best paint players down, Lakers will be a tough match but Im going 4-3, in favor of the c’s.
Cavs are beating the Lakers in 7 games in the finals
@outlandish josh: Thanks for the compliments. I am currently using information from ESPN for standings and records. Once the Playoffs start the bracket will become static and I will update it by hand with each playoff game.
I wish there was a reliable feed for standings and records out there.
brad,
ever thought about, after all the seeds become set in stone, making another ” show records” link, eg, “show head-to-head record”, having it show the regular season head to head records of teams facing each other in the playoffs?
@Josh: That’s a great idea. I might be able to add that this weekend. Thanks for the suggestion!
Celtics don’t stand a chance against the Magic in the second round.
Just found your bracket page this year; I love it! Great setup, easy to understand. I wonder if, while games are taking place, you could put in a little hyperlink that says “Watch This Game Now” or something. That could take you to ESPN GameCast or a site that streams the games. I’m looking for the latter.
@Weston: Glad you like it! Your suggestion is good, and I will consider it. I will be working on the page this weekend so it just might happen (at least the GameCast link.) Thanks again
I have been watching, listen, learning, practicing the game of basketball since I was six years old…I’m here to let everyone know this is the
CAVALIERS championship this year. And for the kobe lovers, lebron wil get a ring before Kobe gets another one…(No SHAQ NO RING FOR KOBE
@Brad:
will you be adding in the head-to-head seeds as well? also, you could add a link to the espn or nba website that compares that stats of each teams head to head.
sorry i meant head to head record, not seed.
@Josh: Yes, that will be my first change, most likely. I’ll be experimenting with ways to make it unobtrusive to the bracket itself. Thanks!
Brad – Cool that you wrote me back! I’ll still keep up this postseason even though the Suns are out. D; ah well. But yeah I think the GameCast link would work since I’m too poor to afford cable!
