Et tu, Ben Wallace?

Ben Wallace a Chicago BullBen Wallace is now a Chicago Bull.

The “heart and soul” of the Detroit Pistons has headed for the greener(and richer) pastures of Chicago in a reported $60 million deal that Detroit just couldn’t afford. Maybe it’s the right thing for the Pistons(I think it is), and maybe they’ll be better off without him(I think they will), but it just doesn’t feel right.

Instead the Pistons were ‘forced’ to sign Nazr Mohammed, a taller but less energetic and compelling individual who might come close to Ben offensively, but won’t touch him defensively.

So yeah. Is this the end of the line for the Pistons, who have ruled the Eastern Conference in the NBA for the past 4 years? The best starting 5 in basketball is broken up. Our ‘heart and soul’ has moved across the lake to the division rivals. Analysts are already saying Detroit has no chance to win another championship.

I say….we’ll see.
