Long-time no-see..and Miami Heat: NBA Champions

So yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve posted. What else is new. Lately I haven’t had the Detroit Pistons or American Idol to keep drawing me back here with wonderfully witty comments and top-quality analysis. But every once in a while I’ll get back here and give the masses what they need.

So, I had to sit there and cringe as the Miami Heat won the NBA Championship last night. It’s pretty bad when the only way I can cheer myself up is by saying “Well, at least they didn’t win it on their home floor.” I just didn’t want Miami to win! I won’t discount the bizarre ‘talent’ of Dwyane Wade, but I think he’s given a lot of what he takes as well. And he’s obviously the most lucky person on the face of the earth, since he’s got to have the the best circus-shot percentage in the NBA. The way people constantly praise him for falling down and flipping the ball over his head, having it miraculously fall in the basket, just astounds me. I don’t hear people calling Rasheed Wallace the best ever because in pre-game warmups he can sink two 3 pointers at once with each hand.

Anyways, they won it. Dwyade Wayne has a ring. Shag has another ring. Pat Riley has another ring. Frikkin Antoine Walker and his stupid little shimmiy-shimmy-ya dance have a ring. And perhaps worst of all, Alonzo F’ing Mourning has an NBA Championship ring. Now, congratulations on coming back from your kidney transplant, I won’t ever take that away from you. But you can leave the attitude at home. I hope you retire and go away forever.

So yeah, it was a bizarre end to a bizarre NBA season. I hope things go back to normal next year (I call Pistons over the Mavericks in 6.)

Also my NBA Playoffs bracket is updated for the final time.
